Some Basic Info

Where do I like to live?

For the cage it is important to be large (minimum size of the cage 60x60x35 cm), rich with a sawdust so the hedgehog can roam and bury.

There should be a hiding place inside the cage, which can be a hut, pipe, or cloth under which the animal will sleep and where to feel safe.

They should get plenty of exercise, and will be doing it during the night, so in the cage you should put wheels for running, various toys and should provide a place for climbing because hedgehogs are great climbers and very fast runners.

It is also advisable to allow free movement in rooms secured by injury or possibility of escape.

Two food containers should be placed in the cage: one for dry food, one for damp food and a water kettle.

Some hedgehogs from the beginning do not know how to drink from a trough, in that case it should put container with water below. A water bowl that cannot easily be knocked over is advised.

They best suit their room temperature between 18 and 22 ° C.

Do not expose them to low temperatures to avoid hibernation (winter sleep).
